Why Upchuck picked Chuck for Defense Secretary

In the Washington Post, Bob Woodward claims that President Obama has chosen Chuck Hagel to be Secretary of Defense because they are soul mates and because they share a willingness to go to war and an aversion to actually doing so. Obama's choice, Woodward claims, has nothing to do with Israel or Iran (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).
