Turnout at 55.5% as of 6:00 pm, could top 70%
As of 6:00 pm, 55.5% of Israelis had gone to the polls, as compared with 50.3% at the same time in the 2009 elections.
As a result of the
high voter turnout, the amount of voters needed to pass the threshold
has risen to 80,000 voters, Channel 2 reported.
The Elections Commission says turnout could yet exceed 70%.
