Tell me what you really think.

A friend called me and he said he had read one of my blog entries (Thank Goodness some one has seen it ).  I asked him how he came across it , and he said that I mentioned  writing it several months ago and he went looking for it and just happened to come across it.

He then went on to tell me that he took issue with something I had written and wanted to comment anonymously in response.  He then went on to tell me at length that he could not make a comment because I apparently had disabled the comment feature of the blog.  I went late and checked and sure enough it was.  So I enabled it and  called him back and told him that he was now free to make his comment.  The nuances of technology are sometimes lost on me.  For instance I have a facebook page that I was told to get when my children were younger so that I could tell what they were up to.  I never got the hang of Facebook, and my children almost always told me what they were up to, within reason.  Within reason was all the things that would not cause angina.

He answereed that then I would know how he really felt.  Not if you are anonymous was my response.

Arggh , he responded and then he said, why don't I just tell you. Ok, pleae do. He went on to run me up and run me down.  But he did it without calling me a name, wiithout a single swear, without yelling or anger.  We talked.

We had a civil and lengthy conversation  and we laughed and then we talked about children, when to take social security, If I wanted to go skiing with him again---absolutely not as I quit skiing shortly after my 55th birthday, when were we going to get out hiking and on and on for a good long while.  It is one of life's great joys to converse with others.

So tell me what you really think.
