It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (Jan. 21, 2013)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I read three review books last week. They were very different from each other but each was excellent in its own way.
Luck of the Draw by Kelley Vitollo was a very engaging contemporary romance with characters I quickly learned to love. My review will be posted on Jan. 24.

Ever After by Kim Harrison is the newest in her Rachel Morgan series. I thought it was fast-paced and filled with exciting adventures, heart-breaking loss, and moral dilemmas. Fans of the series will certainly not want to miss this one. My review is here.

Black Ice by Andrew Lane is the third book in his Young Sherlock Holmes series. Lane expertly plants the seeds of the adult Sherlock Holmes in this action-packed adventure that kept me glued to the pages. My review is here
I am currently reading Othermoon by Nina Berry which is her sequel to Otherkin and tells the story of a group of shape-shifting kids who have to defeat an evil organization that wants to destroy all shape-shifters. This one has adventure and romance.

As usual, I have quite a stack for next week. Most of them are from my review piles. Here are the adult choices:
I have Falling for Her Fiancé by Cindi Madsen for review from Entangled Publishing. My review of this contemporary romance will be part of the blog tour for the book.

Shattered Souls by Delilah Devlin is an Amazon Vine book. Her is the part of the blurb that convinced me that I needed to read this one—"a psychic ex-cop who’s hell-bent on redemption."
Two more Amazon Vine picks are also waiting in the wings for me. The Buckhorn Legacy by Lori Foster and Not Quite Dating by Catherine Bybee should fit in really well with my current craze—contemporary romance.

On the young adult side, I actually have a chance to pick something from my TBR stack for my next book and I don't know what it will be yet. After that, I start reading review books again. I was working on my blog calendars yesterday slotting in review books. Every possible slot is filled through March 23 on my YA blog. It makes it easy to know what to read next even as it eliminates any spontaneity in book choices. Luckily, my adult blog's calendar is much less full.

Here are the next YA review books:
The Last Station Master: A Boy, A Terrorist, A Secret, and Trouble by S. A. M. Posey was sent to me by the author. I will finally get a chance to read it before it is released on Feb. 1.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer is also nearing the top of my TBR stack. I have been eager to read this one since I finished Cinder. It will be released on Feb. 5.

Monday is a work day at school since we have just ended the first semester. I will be busy planning for a whole new group of students. This time I will have fifth graders, third graders, and the other half of first and second grade. I am excited to see them all but not ready yet. Tomorrow will be the day I get organized and block out my lesson plan calendars.

What is your plan for next week? Did you read anything that I need to add to my TBR mountain?
