The effect of the detergent Bio-S at concentrations of 0.01-0.5 g/liter on Euglena gracilis was investigated. Concentrations of 0.01 and 0.1 g/liter produced no significant effect, but at 0.5 g/liter the surfactant completely inhibited growth of the culture.
