North Wales child abuse: unanswered questions

1. Will the Jillings report, into child sexual abuse, be published?

The Clwyd County Council failed to publish the Jillings report, which it commissioned into child abuse in North Wales care homes.

Copies of the Jillings report are held by a number of local government authorities.

Flintshire Council, for example, is trying to avoid publication.

2. Why have powerful members of a paedophile ring, reportedly linked to the government, been allowed to escape justice?

The UK Home Secretary Theresa May wrongly told parliament that: "The (Waterhouse) report found no evidence of a paedophile ring beyond the care system."

In fact, the Waterhouse report stated that the paedophile ring was "not restricted to staff working in care homes."

3. Is the new police investigation part of a cover-up?

In her statement to the UK parliament, Theresea May announced a new inquiry led by the National Crime Agency.

However, Channel 4 News has learned that the investigation is limited to the North Wales area.

Thus, no investigation of other areas, such as Cheshire, Islington...

4. Did the Waterhouse Tribunal suppress key evidence?

The home secretary Theresa May has set up an inquiry, led by Mrs Justice Macur, into the terms of reference of the Waterhouse Tribunal.

Some child abuse victims claim they were prevented from giving evidence about certain top people.

5. What happened to the photographs depicting child abuse discovered in a flat in Wrexham in 1979? 

Reportedly these photos showed top people abusing young boys.

6. Did the security services take top people to various children's homes?
