Keeping Faith Where the Work Changes: The 2013 Carcanet Catalogue

We are delighted to announce that our New Books Catalogue for 2013 has been published, and is now available for browsing and download on the Carcanet website.

In his Letter from the Editor (p.3 of the catalogue) Carcanet's Managing and Editorial Director, Michael Schmidt explains that
Carcanet is about the kinds of continuity that encourage development, keeping faith where the work changes, matures and keeps delighting and surprising. Many poets in the 2013 catalogue have stayed with us for decades. John Ashbery (1977), Alison Brackenbury (1981), Sujata Bhatt (1988), Les Murray (1988), Eavan Boland (1989), John Gallas (1989), Iain Bamforth (1992), SinĂ©ad Morrissey (1996), Jorie Graham (1996) and Frederic Raphael (1997) are all familiar friends who don’t grow old but instead provide surprise after surprise.
And six poets join this list for the first time.
This catalogue also celebrates the digitalisation, in great strides, of Carcanet's list: over 100 titles have now been converted to ebooks, and the process is ongoing. PN Review, its archives already available online in their entirety, is now an app for mobile devices. (And, if you aren't already a subscriber, it is now a great time to start, with 25% off all individual subscriptions until the end the month when you subscribe online and use the code PNRxmas.)

We are very excited to share this catalogue with you, and we hope you enjoy exploring with us the work of its authors next year. If you'd like to keep up with the latest news about Carcanet, keep an eye on the News section of our website, and our Twitter, Facebook, YouTube updates - and, of course, the blog. We love to hear your comments on any of these platforms, and as always, you can most easily get in touch with us at info@carcanet.co.uk.
