Thursday, December 20th at 7am, the police riot have attacked the Villa Amalia squat in
the center of Athens under the pretext an anonymous complaint. The police arrested eight
comrades who were transferred to the police headquarters. The police searched the place
presence of a prosecutor and a witness for several squatters hours and at the end of the
search all the comrades were arrested and charged with crime. The police have sealed the
squat and since the building is continuously monitored by police squads riot. From the
first moments, hundreds of comrades have gathered outside the squat answering the call to
solidarity. In the morning Similarly, several comrades went to the town hall of Athens to
intervene with municipal authorities and the mayor. Later, a meeting took place at a
university near to organize a movement solidarity for the liberation of the arrested
squatters and against the discharge the Villa Amalia.

Friday, December 21, the arrested comrades were transferred to
court by heavily armed police and presented to the prosecutor.
Reason for charges: misdemeanor manufacturing explosive materials that
which means that Monday, December 24, they will be presented to the Judge
instruction that will decide the final indictment. They will
so far in the Prefecture of Police. The squat Villa Amalia was a
political and cultural space for 23 years. All these years the squat
hosted many political events and assembled as well as
concerts and plays. A collective housing, a printing
collective and library are also part thereof. The squat
Villa Amalia is an emblem of the squat movement, a center of the movement
anarchist and an outpost of social struggle and class in Athens.
