Did you ever wonder how your children get political views that are somehow different than yours, or worse yet ever wonder how your children get political views that are strikingly similar to yours. The latter is the real fear.
I think I have latched on to how it happens. During our recent one day vacation in Washington DC, I discovered the truth.
I don't care what my children's politics are, I only care that they feel passionately enough about their connection to our nation that they are informed and active and that they exercise the franchise. I am sorely dismayed that only about 30% of eligible voters really take the time to vote. So make me happy and vote next week.
