SIR CYRIL THREATENED TO SUE 'AND WAS PROTECTED BY MI5'

Child abuser Sir Cyril Smith (right) with his party leader Jeremy Thorpe, who was accused of trying to murder a male lover. Smith was acquainted with child abuser Sir Jimmy Savile.

In 1979, Sir Cyril Smith was accused by Rochdale Alternative Press of abusing boys at a children's home.

Smith, who had freemason connections, announced that he was going to sue for libel.

Lord Boothby, Prime Minister John Major and others successfully sued for libel when accused of sexual misbehaviour.

LORD 'X' SUED, AND WON.

People shut up and Smith was able to continue his political career.

The staff of the Rochdale Alternative Press knew that Smith was guilty.

They had interviewed staff and former residents of the children’s home, and senior police officers.

Nine victims were willing to talk, and there were four signed affidavits.

A top lawyer in London had studied the evidence, prior to the publication of the allegations.

Simon Danczuk, the current Labour MP for Rochdale, has described Smith as a ‘29st bully who imposed himself on his victims, leaving them humiliated, terrified and reduced to quivering wrecks’.

In 1962, Smith had opened a hostel for boys from poor families in Rochdale.

The home was funded with council cash (taxpayer money).

The Daily Mail has established that there were at least three separate police investigations into Smith.

The Director of Public Prosecutions decided not to prosecute, although a top barrister had advised that there were sufficient grounds for prosecution.

In 1977 the Labour Party leader James Callaghan, and the Liberal Party leader David Steel, made a 'Lib-Lab pact'.

A prosecution of Smith might have upset the 'powers-that-be', by revealing the links between the security services and the child abuse in various children's homes.

The British security service MI5 grabbed the police files containing the documents and sworn statements from Smith's victims.

Victor Rothschild

It has been claimed that Lord Victor Rothschild persuaded Edward Heath to appoint Michael Hanley as Director General of MI5 in 1972. (1972–1979: Sir Michael Hanley)

Britain's notorious Crown Prosecution Service initially claimed to have ‘no knowledge’ of any police investigation.

The Crown Prosecution Service has repeatedly refused to tell the Daily Mail who took the decision not to prosecute Smith.

Derek Harding comments:

"I am 70 years old.

"At my childrens home we were all starved.

"The owners said it cost too much to give us a full meal each day, and the bigger boys would steal our food.

"I and many others have malformed bones and very few have lived to my age.

"The way to get extra food was to 'treat the staff' as it was called and drop your pants for the gays.

"This was painful and degrading; i cannot see why the government is falling over itself for gays when they abuse boys in this way."

The military reportedly runs the child brothels.

Michael "Mickey" Jones comments:

"Reading the comment from Derek Harding brought tears to my eyes.

"I was suddenly a small boy again crying in fear.

"My legs are bandy from malnutrition as a boy.

"I had no idea other children's homes went as hungry as we did.

"We silently cheered when Jimmy Savile came with two freinds in his rolls royce to our home and to talk to the boys.

"What a mistake that was.

"Savile was only interested in one thing.

"And yes, boys went missing from our home too - 3 of them in the 1950s..."
