White Dog was working on the White Dog Army's list for Santa. "Dear Sweet Santa," she began. "I know there are many needy creatures this holiday season and we want you to focus on them, but if you have a little extra room in your sleigh and the elves have a little extra time in the workshop could you please bring some new stuffies?
"The ones we have have been loved to death by me as a puppy and now by Puffy and YoYoMa. I don't think my siblings ever had toys before they joined the WDA and they tend to get a little over zealous in their play. They are not bad pups, and they deserve a chance to experience the joy of puppiness.
"Just take one look at the photos I have enclosed and you will see beaks missing and chewed off legs. Eyes have been nibbled off. Fingers are gone. The stuffing coming out is not healthy because one of my siblings might eat it and get sick. New toys will allow us to give these brave old favorites their final, much deserved rest.
"Thanks for your consideration. We will understand whatever you decide. We know you are fair and wonderful and care about us all! Sincerely, Siku Marie, THE White Dog, Head of the WDA
P.S. I will probably send you a few more letters as I think of things or have ideas to lighten your load."
