So , as I mentioned previously cool things can be captured by cell phone camera. They are even cool if the pocket lint clouds the lens and gives them an artsy appearance. Sometimes however you do not capture cool things , you capture un cool things. Which is what happened when I was going to the local Costco . I enter and I see a bright yellow extension cord that someone had snaked out the door. They apparently need power outside the door for something or another.
So instead of hiring an electrician who knows about code, wiring, safety and all those crazy electrician things that we love to ignore.
I am sure that they told Billy, the kid who drives the forklift to go to aisle 11 and get one of those 4 packs of 100 foot extensions along with a roll of duct tape---got to make it good. . So Billy runs this line between the door and the frame, right down there by the hinge. In the perfect location for the door and hinge to abrade and crush the insulation, to the point were it will tear and probably send 120 volts of electricity through some unsuspecting shopper on Black Friday. The wire showed signs of being crushed and abraded, so I did the right thing and went over to the customer service desk and called someone over to look at it. The lack of interest amazed me and the refusal to commit to taking care of it really made me wonder about the depth of apathy.
It is only a matter of time, It is a sure thing, seeing how the door and frame are aluminum. Aluminum being a great conductor of electricity.
So when I went to customer service to caution them, why is it that they blew me off. I guess it was because my UL label was hidden.
