Amerikanët janë duke bërë llogaritë tashmë për dëmet që shkaktoi uragani Sandy. Përveç viktimave, ai la pas shtëpi dhe rrugë pa fund të shkatërruara, të cilat pritet të ngrihen nga fillimi.
Ne jemi këtu për ju dhe nuk do t’ju harrojmë. Ne do ta ndjekim gjendjen dhe do të sigurojmë që ju të merrni ndihmën që ju duhet deri sa të përfundoni rindërtimin”, ka thënë presidenti Obama gjatë vizitës së tij në Nju Xhersi, një prej zonave më të goditura nga Sandy.
Stuhia u bë shkak për një aleancë të pazakontë mes presidentit demokrat dhe guvernatorit republikan të Nju Xhersit, Kris Kristi. Guvernatori Kristi, mbështetës shumë i fuqishëm i Mit Romnit, e shoqëroi presidentin amerikan gjatë vizitës në Nju Xhersi dhe vlerësoi përgjigjen e tij ndaj kësaj fatkeqësie natyrore.
Kjo ka qënë një marrëdhënie e shkëlqyer pune për të siguruar se ne jemi duke bërë atë për të cilën populli na ka zgjedhur. Unë nuk mund ta falenderoj mjaft presidentin për shqetësimin personal dhe mbështetjen që ka shprehur për shtetin tonë dhe për popullatën e këtij shteti”, tha Kristi.
Dalja krah Obamas e guvernatorit Kristi shihet si një plus i madh për këtë të fundit në zgjedhjet presidenciale që do të mbahen pas 6 ditësh.
