White Dog and The White Dog Army
Wonderful World Wednesday...not!
White Dog knows that on Wednesdays we celebrate the steps, both big and little, that we discover are being taken which somehow make the world a better place. Sometimes those things help a few people and are generally unknown; other times we learn of breakthroughs that may change the world for millions. It gives us hope and fills us with a sense of rightness in the Universe to know that these people and events are going on and gives us great joy to share them with you.
Tonight the WDA is short on feeling good about the Universe. We are at a loss to understand how pain helps make the World more Wonderful.
Our dear friends, Dachsies with Moxie lost their beloved Anna Rose to kidney disease today. It was an ugly painful battle that leaves us shaking our paws at the Universe demanding "Why?" Anna Rose follows Ginger and Thai who were both called over the Rainbow Bridge over the past several months. Should any family suffer so many tragedies without even having a chance to mend in between?
It seems everywhere we look there is anguish and grief. We met a woman today who lost both her parents and her heart dog to the c monster. The headlines are full of hate and derision. Children are killing themselves because of bullyism and adults stand mute while untold horrors are inflicted on animals, the weak, the old.
White Dog reminds us here that it is all a matter of perspective...that we can get trapped into seeing only the negative things or that we can, at those darkest moments, look up and see the faintest glimmer of the star called hope.
She says we cannot publish this post; it will disappoint those who look to us for a positive point of view. I say it is hard to see any glimmer through teary eyes and a heavy heart and that you will understand. Tonight we will grieve for Anna Rose's family and the seeming unfairness of the Universe in the hope (there is that word) that a brilliant sunrise in the morning will flood us with renewal. Please let the Dachsies and their wonderful compassionate generous WHN know you are there for them.
