France, Alternative Libertair #219 - Seine-Saint-Denis: Rotos not impressed (fr)
Printing Rotos 93 was put into liquidation. The workers decided not to let it go and
occupy their factory not disappear another company in the department, already struggling
with huge social PSA. ---- Seine-Saint-Denis has more than 125,000 unemployed. And perhaps
more if the fate of the plant PSA Citroen Aulnay-sous-Bois is sealed with his 3300 direct
jobs (nearly 10,000 subcontractors). May 29, 2012, the court of Bobigny whose business is
in liquidation printing Rotos 93. Twenty-four workers are concerned. They are aged 27 to
62 years who are all CGT worked in this factory which provided even a few weeks ago the
printing of six daily racing and football, three magazines (including nationalist
"Rivarol"!) and the circulation of the newspaper Control Workers. As they wrote in their
first release, "employees were presented with a fait accompli, the knowledgeable staff a
week before the bankruptcy filing. They still tried to find solutions by offering several
alternatives. Management refused any dialogue with staff representatives. "
Twenty-four workers
Arriving at the factory entrance, a banner was deployed: "Workers forgotten." Twenty-four
employees Rotos 93 are obviously bitter since the decision of the Commercial Court.
Discouragement but did not effect impotence, they decided to occupy their factory, if
necessary, with their families, to weigh in the balance of power. The manager said Rotos
93 in the daily Le Parisien had "done everything to save the company" and "warned
employees of difficulties." "The Crisis of the press is such that we have lost several
important publications in recent years." Translation: after years of privatization of
profits for these assisted patrons, the time has come for the socialization of losses
provided by the taxpayers.
Meanwhile, interprofessional solidarity organized by the local union CGT Blanc-Mesnil is
taking place. The Syndicate of school meals for common Pantin and Blanc-Mesnil, brought
food, while the CGT territorial relays with the community and elected Rotos the situation.
The Left Front MP for the riding, Marie-George Buffet, came to support employees by
promising to intervene with the prefect and councilors Blanc-Mesnil (including the LO who
works PSA). A letter to Arnaud Montebourg, Minister of recovery productive has been sent.
A delegation of 93 Libertarian Alternative decided to go on their support site workers in
struggle to revive their business.
