[New bioeffects of a component of some industrial detergent mixtures. Sulfonol is a key surfactant chemical that is the main component of many laundry detergents. The the experiments of the authors, 0.001 % sulfonol completely inhibited the growth of the culture of the green algae Dunaliella asymmetrica. 0.005 % sulfonol caused death and lysis of the cells. 0.001% sulfonol almost by 50% inhibited the arbitrary average length of the seedlings of Fagopyrum esculentum].

Abstract, version 2: Anionic surfactants are an important class of environmental pollutants. Effects of anionic surfactant sulphonol on two plant species have been studied. Sulphonol inhibited the growth of algae Dunaliella asymmetrica146 and elongation of Fagopyrum esculentumseedlings. In the experiments with sulphonol, algae were more sensitive to it than the seedlings. Both organisms can be used in further bioassay of pollutants.

Из содерж.: [0.001 %  (=10 мг/л) сульфонол (анионный ПАВ алкилбензолсульфонат) полностью останавливал рост культуры зеленой водоросли Dunaliella asymmetrica на среде Артари  и вызывал частичную гибель клеток. 0.005 %  (= 50 мг/л) ПАВ сульфонол вызывал полную гибель и лизис клеток D. asymmetrica . 0.001% сульфонол почти вдвое уменьшал условную среднюю  длину проростков Fagopyrum esculentum].
