Cute kid now take him home. So anyhow there is the local town /community semi annual meeting and it is held last night. So I go to vote for my neighbor who is up for Board of Governors, he is a good guy and young enough to bring some new ideas into the game.
But our community is within a broader town and the town fathers all like to come to the meeting, because they pander to the community vote on the town level.
But beyond that , there is a Statewide politician, what would in some areas be called a Legislatory, assemblyman, Senator. He goes to the state capital and acts on state wide legislation. I have known him for a lond time, he is not a bad guy, but he is a real politician.
Last night he did scrape a nerve of mine. See he is there at 8 to 8:30 PM and in his arms is his 2 year old son. Kid is a cute kid, but that kid should be home , bathed and p d'd and being read a bed time story. He should not be a political prop at the town/community meeting. The child was beyond meltdown, he clearly was exhausted and was getting close to the stage where the tears and crying starts. Take him home I said to myself yet again. I then said to the Dad, I am going home to eat dinner and relax, I only came over to vote, thinking that he too would see the importance of home and hearth in the evening.
I went to night school for more years than I care to recall and I really remember the joy of finally walking in the door after a long day and being able to call it quits. I would be out of home from 7 AM to 11 PM, Oh How I learned that Home is a good place. Take your child home, your child is not running for office, he is not shopping for floor tile or a new TV. He wants to sit on your lap and snuggle. .
So Mr. Assemblyman you just kicked my vote to the curb. Kids that are two to 8 should be home , in bed or on their way to bed at that time. They should not be dragged around Home Depot, Costco, Target or anyother place at that hour. But it seems as though noone is getting the parenting message.
