Background information on the refugee strikers
The refugee protest march to Berlin started in Wuerzburg on the 8th of
september 2012 after months of refugees protest against the inhumane
treatments of refugees to condemn the humanrights abuses against the
refugees and the decades of underdeveloped asylum policies of
discrimination and criminalisation of refugees in Bavaria state and the
federal republic of germany.
„The refugee movement emerged as a reaction to the suicide of Mohammad
Rahsepar in March 19th, 2012 , who couldn't bear the burden of the misery
imposed on us in the refugee lager of Würzburg anymore. Since then there
have been nation wide tents of refugee protest actions and
hungerstike to express the solidarity for a better situation, for the
basic demand to restore the dignity of refugees and for the freedom of
movement for everybody in Germany by the refugee strikers.
On thursday, september the 13th at about 10:00 Hrs the refugees proved
their independence by destroying their personal identity documents and
crossed the former inner german border.
With this action they break the Residenzpflicht and continue their way to
Berlin“
