There are so many lovely walks that start in Sorteny,  but this one was recommended by one park ranger who was in the information booth in the parking area. While the walk is easy much of the time, the second last leg on the map, the part before the path goes sharply right is a bit of a slog. The first part of the walk goes to a refugi that was a hike I posted before. Either before, or after the refugi, you need to cross the river. I say either before or after because there are two bridges. Walk along the established path until the sign post, this is the start point for the steeper part of the hike. The view into the valley below as you're going up this slope is very nice. After about 40 minutes, the path becomes a lot less steep, and at this point, you will see the pile of stones that is the highest part of the walk. At the pile of stones, that is about 1.5 meters high, you are standing on the French boarder at Port de Siguer, and can enjoy the spectacular views to the North. Continue to the East and slightly down the other side to the Blue lake. For us, as we reached the pile of stones, the sky opened up and a torrential rainfall followed. Our Galgo hates rain, and as we were above tree line, we turned and went as fast as we could back down the mountain.

Past the refugi, the sign that indicates the beginning the steeper part of the hike.
