White Dog and the rest of the White Dog Army loaded into the van. They were on an official mission and were focused on delivering all the charm needed to draw in a new recruit to our fight against the evil c monster.
The White Dogs all love Ridah, the gentle generous owner of our favorite Moroccan restaurant, because he always sends home lamb shank bones, or a bit of lamb tagine for their pleasure. They respect his hard work and dedication to keeping his food the highest quality, his prices affordable, and his restaurant a pleasant environment. He is an old-fashioned business man whose word is his contract, who is fair to his employees, and who remembers his patrons even outside the Kasbah.
The restaurant is just afew blocks away from home. It was busy but the patio was empty. The WDA got a few notices as they quietly got out of the van and arranged themselves in a row on the deck. White Dog held the sign that read: "Can We Rock You Kasbah to Fight Cancer?" Nuka wore her Puppy Up! bandanna.
While we waited, patiently considering faces were now peeking out of the windows, Steve slipped inside and persuaded Ridah to step out for just a second. After a bit (Ridah is his own chef), he came out and threw his hands to his cheeks. "It is the wonderful White Dogs!" he exclaimed. He read White Dog's sign and looked at us with a question.
"We know you are very busy right now but later we would like to talk to you about hosting a charity party." "To fight cancer? Of course what an important cause!" The WDA swarmed him and he laughed, "Is that for my answer or because I smell like your favorite foods?" They gave a look that said, "Does it really matter?"
"Steve and I will take the White Ones home and be back for dinner we can talk after you close about what I have in mind." The WDA looked horrified and moved to go inside the restaurant for dinner themselves, too. "Do not worry, my friends," Ridah reassured them. "I will send something home for you." Reluctantly, the WDA piled back in the van and Ridah rushed back to the kitchen.
Later, after a marvelous dinner of lamb and seductively spiced chicken, we all talked and, true to his first reaction, Ridah agreed to let us Rock the Kasbah on September 16th with music, exotic foods and the founder of 2MillionDogs as a special guest. And also true to his word...the White Dog Army received meaty delicious lamb shank bones. The c don't like it; ROCK the Kasbah!
