Wow. We had a really long bus ride to Gjirokaster from Tirana. The highways in Albania are treacherous - potholes 8 feet wide are not uncommon!
We made it in one piece though and dropped our bags and then immediately headed to the castle in town for our dress rehearsal and concert.
The castle in Gjirokaster is stunning and it was such a unique place to play a concert. Cobblestones underfoot and amazing arches above, with a few old tanks tucked into alcoves. Here are some photos of the downtime we had between rehearsal and concert - it kind of gives you a feel for the castle.
I also include a photo from the after party - Bujar and Nick making speeches about the efforts of the WCSO to make a tour of Albania happen!
We head to Antigone tomorrow, which is Bujar's hometown. There we are going to open a music school, it's going to be pretty awesome.
