West Coast Symphony Members Prepare for Goodwill Tour to Albania
In two weeks a contingent of the West Coast Symphony Orchestra will be winging its way to Tirana, Albania, to begin a two week musical tour that will take them to various cities, towns and villages in Albania and Macedonia, with a side trip to enjoy the azure beaches of the "Albanian Riviera." A highlight of the trip will be a visit to Antigone, the village of the orchestra's conductor, Bujar Llapaj, where they will participate in the founding of a music school for the village. Currently, members are busy collecting instruments for the students of the new school.
