This walk is along a long established path using for moving cattle and such up and down the mountain. The starting point is the village of Llorts, a very pretty spot. All the old towns in Andorra have a church at their center, and are well situated to take advantage of the sun. This walk is a haul, and while the distance is not that big a deal, the climb is pretty harsh. The first part of the walk is through trees, giving limited views. As you get higher up, the landscape opens up, and the pitch isn't as acute. We only went as far as the refugi, but walking another half an hour gets you to a few lakes, that are also very nice. We were hungry so we went back down, and had a nice lunch at a restaurant in the village. I felt we had earned it.
The first part of the hike is shaded but steep.
Later, it opens up, and the pitch improves a little.
The views are very nice!
The path is well marked.
At last, the refugi!
2240m, 800m vertical of the starting point.
