I have small adventures interspersed into my life , usually on a weekly basis. Usually on Sunday morning I will hike or bike or get out and do something that is enjoyable. Has some physicality to it and usually involves interaction with friends of a like mind.
My spring high point is usually the Five Borough Bike Tour, which I get in shape for, so that I am assured of riding the nearly 50mile course without having to be picked up.
This year I did not get a ticket and did not really work at getting into shape. But then I saw a facebook entry of a friend, wherein he noted that he had just finished the requirements of entry into the Catskill 3500 club. They must climb 35 peaks over 3500 feet in elevation in the Catskill Mountains and then do 4 more of them in the winter. His photos were inspirational, I want to see the world from the top, just one time.
Wow, I thought . All I want to do is climb one of them over 4000 feet. So now I find myself getting in shape for the climb that will take place sometime in September.
We will see where this takes us. A goal to condition for.
