Hindu temple stormed in Peshawar

Unidentified men stormed a Hindu temple in Peshawar Sunday evening, police said. The attackers burnt images inside the temple and took away idols from the temple in the city’s archaeological complex Gor Gattri area, police said.

The attackers fled after the incident. No group claimed responsibility for the attack. 

The custodian said that it was third attack on the temple. He told the police when he arrived at the temple around 6:30 p.m., he saw a group of eight persons already present inside the temple. They started burning the images and sacred books. They fled while taking idols. 

The police also arrived at the scene. A police officer said that they are investigating the incident. 

Members of the Hindu community also rushed to the temple after receiving information. There is no conflict between the minority Hindus and Muslims and both live peacefully.
