It's sort of dull, but at least I find the pre-ZIP code addresses, such as New York 36 or Chicago 15, to be rather charming. How many of us remember when ZIP codes were an innovation? I can (barely) remember my mother explaining that you had to include a number because Chicago was a big city with more than one post office! But we've more or less run out of car cards to post about, and it's making me moody and irritable. Sorry.
