Isn't there an old saying, something your Grandmother might have said to you when you were a child. "Be an angel and run this next door" "Be an angel and mail this letter for me" "Be an angel and carry this for me" Lately , for some inexplicable reason I got sidetracked by this idea of angels. Who or what are they ? It got me to thinking that we need to look more for the angels about us than for the craven. We need to raise our sights, but when I come home and see things like the New Orleans Saints goon squad (how ironic is that) and reality Television I am a little dismayed that others do not share my particular view. The inexplicable is always part of the search for spiritual meaning, because God is pretty much inexplicable despite what legions of preachers tell us.
I sense something of a rejection of God in the modern world and I get a sense that people ignore their spiritual development. As I have aged, I have become more comfortable with the existence of God, I have almost come to embrace the idea. Faith competes with doubt and that is what we humans will always wrestle with. That is the inexplicable. What is the result of the rejection of
God, is it rampant sexual overload, greed on Wall Street, fractured family ties, addictions. I don't know but I think God is trying to tell us something---would it be that we could only figure out what.
