Mr. Innocence

The dog has been really good lately. It must have been the 3 days in the kennel that impressed upon him the need to be really loving toward us. But that has its drawbacks too. As can be seen in his choice of places to sleep.

They insinuate themselves into your heart and then they just take over and then they start thinking that there are no boundaries. Well with all dogs there have to be boundaries and in our household I am the one who must set the boundaries.

My breed can not be physically disciplined, not would I recommend that for any breed, but my breed is sensitive to the idea of pleasing the master, so for my dog it is simple . I say in a loud voice "What did you do ? and he knows immediately that he has transgressed and he is sorry.

All dogs will transgress, they can't help it. So this morninging I heard the rustle of aluminum foil coming from the kitchen, and I knew . Yes , there was an apple walnut cake left over from Easter on the counter, wrapped in aluminum foil.

I did not even have to move, I merely raised my voice and asked "What are you doing ?" and the next thing I knew he was at my side with his wagging tail, smiling face and pleading eyes. He knew, I knew. But he still maintained his innocence.
