Mayor of Newark

I have mentioned the Mayor of Newark several times in this blog in recent months. That he is being groomed for higher political office can not be mistaken. That is fine for him , but making careerist politicians is probably not good for the country. There are too many of them, too many who have never put back under the hod, shoulder to the wheel or in anyway done anything that can remotely be considered productive.

But this week the Mayor of Newark did a good thing. He , followed his security detail into the burning home of a neighbor and helped bring a lady to safety. It was a good thing, a right thing, a thing to be proud of. For that we salute you.

Despite what the pundits say, however, it was not a thing to base a vote for president upon.

I am liking the idea that I had this guy on the scope long before any of the national political commentators even knew there was a Newark NJ.
