My wife suggested that I turn off the fans this morning. No kidding I say.
The dog that did not want to move on Monday afternoon after work was wild with delight this morning.
My dog is a border collie, the breed that loves to boss other animals around. They shove sheep, cows , goats around. They do it by coming in behind and nudging the recalcitrant animal along with their nose and their mouths. If the animal doesn't move they will come in behind and shove with their two front paws. They come in fast, and jump up and shove hard with the front paws. They will also circle low and huff as I call it. It is not a bark, not a growl, not a yelp, but a deep huffing noise as they circle around.
Today while on our walk, we encountered Harry, the world's friendliest dog and his master Tom, and Debbie the lady who rides her bike to work. We got into conversation and it went on and on. So when it came time to leave, my dog went into his full blown repetoire of border collie moves to get me moving. It must have been a sight , for I could hear Tom and Debbie still laughing from 200 feet away. He shoved, he huffed and he nudged. He shoved my rear end, nudged my ankles and ran circles around me huffing, waiting to give me another shove. And I like to think that I am the boss.
