The Washington NFL team just traded away its future (several first round draft picks plus a second) for the opportunity to draft a Political Science major: Robert Griffin III or RG3. Another Political Science major is one of the most popular twitter-ers, bloggers, documentary producers around: Bill Simmons the ESPN Sports Guy.
So, I now have new answers to the question: what to do with my poli sci degree other than grad school (see the past few days of posts)? Obviously, the poli sci major is not just a path to politics, law school or professor-dom, despite the questions relatives often ask of aspiring poli sci majors. I am amused that this article indicated the comparative advantage of the poli sci degree for a Quarterback. Perhaps not for every QB, but I could see the point for a QB going to DC, where the job is much more political with dysfunctional owner, uptight coach.
Who is your favorite political scientist in a non-political science-y kind of job?
