White Dog snuggled next to Steve this morning on our Friday-Is-Saturday and said, "you know which are the hardest weeks of your schedule, dad?" "The starts of new quarters?" Steve immediately responded. "How did you know?" "Because they are hard on me, too. Everything is all different and we have to get used to a whole new routine."
The Other White Dog spoke up as he rested his chin on Steve's leg, "The hardest part of that is that the new starts follow breaks where you are home a lot more than normal because there are no classes. I get used to having you here all of the time and then poof! you disappear!"
"Be fair," Puff purred, "Dad doesn't disappear and it is certainly not by choice. He works hard for all of us." With that she moved to Steve's other side and looked up for his approval.
"So," Nuka yipped pacing back and forth in front of the love-in, "last week was a ball buster..." "EXCUSE ME?" I interrupted. "I heard Michael say it," Nuka replied hanging her head. "I shouldn't use that term, huh?" "No and neither should Michael, but continue with your thought." "Last week was a BIG adjustment," AWD went on, "but we made it to Friday so my question is why are we all hanging around inside on such a beautiful day?"
WD caught her enthusiasm and dashed to the door. "Whoa, General! Don't we need a plan, first?" I asked. "Nope, today let's just do that live in the moment thing, starting with delivering those boxes of books we have been planning to donate to the school. They are cluttering the porch and now that it is getting warmer, the WDA wants room to lounge there. Then...who knows...
