RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The international organization for the defense of children has said that the Israeli occupation soldiers savagely beat up a Palestinian child after breaking both his legs.
The organization quoted the 16-year-old boy Mahmoud Qatna as saying that he was heading to an area near the separation wall in his village Beit Sorik along with a number of his friends when the soldiers surprised them.
He said that the soldiers arrested him along with two of his friends, threw him on his stomach on the ground and started beating him savagely, adding that before that he was hit with a rubber bullet in his left leg fired by those soldiers.
Qatna said that he was screaming out of pain and told the soldiers that his leg had broken but they did not heed his screams and continued to beat him.
He said that the soldiers took him to an asphalted road where he was beaten anew then he was carried to a roadblock where he was held blindfolded and handcuffed under the rain for half an hour.
The boy said that he was taken to an army base where an interrogator questioned him about going to the wall, adding that the questioning took place at midnight. He said that the interrogator accused him of throwing stones at the soldiers, which he absolutely denied.
Qatna said he was then taken to Ofer jail then to hospital the next morning where the doctors discovered that both his legs were broken and where he was served food and allowed to the bathroom for the first time since his arrest.
Qatna was returned to Ofer jail where he was beaten on the way back then held for 16 days during which he was taken to court five times. In the fifth hearing he was released on bail pending trial.

Les soldats des forces d'occupation israélienne brise les jambes d'un Palestinien mineur
RAMALLAH, (CIP) - L'organisation internationale pour la défense des enfants a dit que les soldats des forces d'occupation israélienne ont sauvagement battu un enfant palestinien après avoir brisé ses deux jambes.
L'organisation a cité le garçon, Mahmoud Qatna, âgé de 16 ans qui a raconté qu'il se dirigeait avec quelques-uns de ses amis vers une zone située près du mur de séparation dans son village de Beit Sorik, quand les soldats les ont surpris.
Il a déclaré que les soldats l'ont arrêté avec deux de ses amis, l'ont jeté à plat ventre sur le sol et ont commencé à le battre sauvagement. Il a ajouté qu'avant il avait été touché à la jambe gauche par une balle en caoutchouc tirée par ces soldats.
Qatna a rapporté qu'il hurlait de douleur et qu'il a fait savoir aux soldats que sa jambe avait été cassée mais que ces derniers n'ont pas tenu compte de ses cris et qu'ils ont continué à le battre.
Il a dit que les soldats l'ont emmené vers une route goudronnée où il a été battu à nouveau puis qu’il a été conduit à un barrage routier où il est resté retenu sous la pluie pendant une demi-heure, les yeux bandés et les mains menottées.
Le garçon a dit qu'il avait été emmené dans une base militaire où un interrogateur l'a questionné sur les raisons de sa présence près du mur; il a précisé que l'interrogatoire a eu lieu à minuit. Il a dit que l'interrogateur l'a accusé d'avoir jeté des pierres sur les soldats, ce qu'il a formellement réfuté.
Qatna a dit qu'il a ensuite été emmené à la prison d'Ofer, puis à l'hôpital le lendemain matin, où les médecins ont découvert que ses deux jambes étaient cassées et où on lui a servi de la nourriture et le droit de se rendre à la salle de bain pour la première fois depuis son arrestation.
Qatna a été renvoyé à la prison d'Ofer, où il a été battu sur le chemin du retour, puis il a été maintenu 16 jours en détention au cours desquels il a été présenté au tribunal à cinq reprises. Lors de la cinquième audience, il a été libéré sous caution en attendant son procès.
