CONTACT: CAIR-Tampa Executive Director Hassan Shibly, 813-541-4321, E-Mail:hshibly@cair.com

The free event is designed to help challenge the recent rise in Islamophobic rhetoric in Tampa. It will include a question and answer session on topics such as Islamophobia, basic Muslim beliefs and practices, sharia, human rights, religious tolerance, common misconceptions about Islam, and Islam's condemnation of terrorism.

CAIR-Tampa executive director, Hassan Shibly said: "Ignorance leads to misunderstanding, which in turn leads to fear, hatred, discrimination, and even violence. By reaching out and getting to know each other, we can  love each other as a community and recognize that our differences need not divide us. We thus invite the Tampa community at large to come and meet their Muslim neighbors."

CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
