State of the Union

On Saturday, we took the AMTRAK from NJ to Washington DC on some personal business. We were most impressed at the comfort, the speed, the service, the entire thing. Instead of wrestling with traffic and driving and those whackadoodle drivers on the NJ, Delaware, Md and Virginia Highways we got to read, listen to music, dring a cup of coffee, snooze and arrive rested. Do it if you have the chance.

But what does this have to do with the state of the Union, well it goes like this. The train passes through Trenton, Philadelphia, Baltimore and other cities. The view passing through Philadelphia and Baltimore in particular evidence a nation on the balls of its ass. We were stunned to see neighborhoods in Baltimore in particular , where people actually live. The neighborhoods were bombed out remnants , they looked like picture books of WWII in Europe. The google link above does not do justice to what we saw from the train.

A damnable indictment of our Country. Fearsome and inexcusable. Where are the leaders to correct this . Take that train ride and see for yourself.
