White Dog yawned. "It is still dark, for dog's sake! What is wrong with you momma?" Normally 6am is the realm of Steve time, not mine, so she was a bit concerned as I (with eyelids still glued shut) slid out of bed and began the day-start rituals. I heard YoYoMa mutter, "this is just WRONG!" as he dutifully hauled himself to four-legs and followed to lie across the bathroom door.

I had a doctor's appointment (just a followup check) which I always foolishly ask for the earliest possible and was expected to be presentable and ready to interact publicly by 7:20am (WHAT was I thinking). But then I am done and my "real" day is not disrupted. None of the White Dog Army complained about not being able to go along.

Home by 8:15, we breakfasted with the pups (our CA boys thought the hour was still too early but could not pass up eating) and informed them that since Tuesday is the tough late night, we planned to spend the entire morning having WDA time. First stop...to get more kibble since the giant kibble bin was down to stems and seeds.

The White Ones strapped on their rainbow of harnesses and jostled each other to be first at the door. Quin has discovered the notion of luxury riding and now, to Nuka's forced delight, shares the way back seat in Pumpkin sprawled like a Persian Prince with AWD.

Everyone had to sniff the kibble bag as Steve loaded the 500 lb bag (or it least it seemed that way) behind the seat thinking there it would be safe. Puff promptly proved him wrong by jumping over the seat back and lying on the bag.

Next it was an extended trip to the Park with not one but two walks, separated by dog treats and a water break. WD led YAWD and SAWD in a brisk canter as she buzz bombed them running by at full-speed. Quinn and Nuka enjoyed sightseeing at a more relaxed pace.

A stop for carryout Chinese (chicken chow mein is a WDA favorite) and then home for lunch. Steve had to wake the Army to say "see you later" when he left mid-afternoon...if it wasn't for the duck jerky in his hand, I suspect their adieu would have been more sleep muffled.

We are on the back half of our wait for Steve's return and all are resting and patient. I think we may have found a cure for the Long Night Blues!
