Carcanet is thrilled to announce that our 2012 Catalogue is out now!
After months of wrangling, hand-wringing and - of course - writing, we can proudly release our list of this year's new books.
Books, books, books! So many exciting titles - including, we are delighted to say, seven first collections. As many of you will have heard, Stirling-based William Letford is finally publishing a highly-anticipated full book of poems, having wowed us all in New Poetries V last year. Watch this video to see him perform his his poem 'We Are' - not to be missed.
Then there's The Collected Poems of Elizabeth Jennings, one of twentieth-century England's most enduringly popular poets (including previously uncollected poems and some of her unpublished theological prose), and the New and Selected Poems of Irish religious poet John F. Deane. Gabriel Josipovici has some first-rate fiction for us in May: Infinity: The Story of a Moment tells the comic-but-poignant story of an eccentric avant-garde composer, as narrated to his bewildered former manservant; and Mary O'Malley shares with us her odyssey through sea, the self and time in Valparaiso. In March, we publish a haunting and revealing new edition, The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, who was a profound influence on the French symbolists; and in July, the first ever Collected Poems of Edward Dorn, one of the most original voices of American poetry to come out of the last century.
To name but a few.
We are immensely proud of the new catalogue. We hope you enjoy browsing it, and reading the new books as they become available throughout the year. In the meantime: keep an eye on our website for updates about all our poets and their collections: you can also download your very own copy of the 2012 catalogue here. Keep reading our blog, keep following us on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, and keep reading our newsletter (subscribe on our home page). We love to get your feedback, so don't forget to leave a comment or contact us.
We wish you a very happy new year.
