White Dog came bursting into the office after her pre-bedtime walk, eyes wide and out of breath. YoYoMa followed slightly less dramatically but still looking like something was wrong.

I heard Steve shut the front door and called out. He too, appeared and was shaking his head. "WHAT!" I said looking at the three of them. "It's like the Werewolves of London," White Dog panted. "Worse than pea soup," Yo agreed, adding, "ummmm now THAT sounds tasty!" "We want soup and to meet the wolves," Nuka and Puff clamored! "No you don't!" White Dog cautioned. "YES we do," they countered. "How come...." "Everyone! Please! Will someone tell me what this is all about?" I begged. Quinn, next to me, looked expectantly at Steve.

"We have lived here, what? 15 years? We NEVER have had fog...and fog like this," he said showing me the photo. "We live in the desert; this doesn't happen. But go look.
"I could barely see WD at the end of her leash."

"It WAS scary, momma" WD said, "I was trying to watch Yo and he kept disappearing!"

I went to the front porch, followed by the White Dog Army and Steve. They were right; it was thickly foggy and it was hard to see past the end of the driveway. The street lamps were eerily distorted and the normally busy Route 66 (Central Avenue) was nearly silent. And it was COLD!

No one argued when I said, "Let's go inside and lock the door and have our bedtime treats. We can all cuddle together. No werewolves allowed"
