White Dog, Puff, and Nuka woke us EARLY this morning with their constant banging in and out through the dog door. "Hey, what's going on?" Steve mumbled. "I hope they are not sick," I said peering through my wake up fog at the blurry fluff trotting by. "What is that noise?" we asked each other. It sounded like the girls were eating popcorn in the hallway ...crunch...crunch...crunch! Our wondering was interrupted by the parade passing to once again go outside.
This time we watched them come in. Each was carrying leaves. Steve leaned WAY over the edge of the bed to peer into the hall. There were trampled and crushed leaves EVERYWHERE and the White Ones were squiggling and rolling in what they had just brought in.
"What the..." again, the trio marched outside and we peeked through the blinds to see that there had been a big change from when we had gone to bed. Nature had decided that it was time for the huge thinking tree in the yard to lose its leaves--all of them--and they had pretty much dropped in a single action which blanketed everything with golden and yellow leaves.
WD, AWD, and SAWD pranced about a bit but the morning was cold so they gathered up leaves to bring their fun indoors. "Maybe I will just wait to break out the vacuum," I said. "maybe until the first snow!"
