Kicking into gear

Isn't this a cute idea for a Christmas mantle? I love it.

Our town is starting to light up for Christmas now that November is half over. The Christmas parade is next Saturday and around this town that's what kicks the spirit of Christmas into gear. The following weekend is the 'Light up the Night' celebration in the little town of Almonte, 15 minutes from our home. If weather co-operates, we'll be there. We just need some snow.

My daughter Jess dropped by today so we headed over to the Carleton Place Nursery Christmas Shop. I found a little decoration for my Charlie Brown tree & a few sweet things for little Riley.

Jess picked out a few ornaments too. She'll be getting a real tree for her new home. They have been renovating and working so hard on this house. It's going to be spectacular when completed.

Allie, my youngest is on her way to Argentina. They have left Chile and are on the road as I type this.  She will contact us when they arrive. There are 3 weeks left of their adventure of a life-time.

We are still without snow. Haven't seen a flake. Well, of snow, that is.

I've been busy cat-sitting these last few days and today finished up with my favorite tabbies, Bud & Chase. I love taking photos of these two brothers although I don't normally go for this angle...
