White Dog and The White Dog Army
Wonderful World Wednesday

White Dog is always surprised when reminded how many people follow her blog who are not part of our pet-focused community and who read but never comment. It is a little overwheming to realize that so many follow her adventures. But what is even more amazing and wonderful is the extent to which our readers care. Last night, with sadness, we posted a FaceBook comment about our friend Gizmo's loss of his battle with cancer. White Dog asked how many must lose their lives and loved ones before we stop this monster...we were feeling a little ineffective.

This evening, we received a message which said, "Don't EVER feel defeated. Every heart that vows to help, every hand that reaches out, and every positive thought that touches just one other wins a battle. We may not all be surgeons to physically cut out the cancer, but we can all make a difference. Please watch this video to see what I mean..."

Woman Starts Angel Factory in Basement Raising $1Mil for Cancer Research
By Good News Network
29 years ago a woman made a stained glass angel for a friend battling cancer. Now, her home has become a stained glass factory, with 90 volunteers producing tens of thousands of hand made angels for patients around the globe.

More amazing, one million dollars in proceeds from these angels has gone to Johns Hopkins cancer research, buying intricate equipment and funding studies.

White Dog and The White Dog Army applaud her work and know that she and her volunteers have made an incredible difference in many lives with these angels. From one tiny little craft project has come the comfort of an angel to watch over thousands AND medical technology to fight the monster head-on. Gives us hope. How wonderful is that?
