With Steve's new quarter, he teaches on Saturday and thus, Friday is one of his weekend days off...our "new Saturday".
So we went to the Park just to play a bit and stroll through the grass.

We lunched at a little bakery that in the old fashioned tradition, also makes pizza. They grow all of their own vegetables right in the cafe and have a delightfully shady patio. We opted to share sandwiches are rich earthy whole grain bread, the roast beef and turkey lovingly cradled in purple endive, fresh picked tomatoes (for our meal), sprouts, and kosher pickles made from cucumbers grown on the windowsill. The WDA swooned over the bread and bits of meat; YoYoMa gave the garden's yield two paws up. There was Moroccan mint iced tea blended at the tea shoppe down the street and delicious biscochitos (a traditional anise and cinnamon flavored cookie) for dessert. One of the fun things we are discovering is the Friday day off is fun because many places that are closed or crowded on the "normal" weekend are open and nearly deserted mid-day on Friday.
We left the White Ones home to sleep off the morning and headed out to do some much needed grocery shopping. Again, it was off hours so the store was nearly empty. As a bonus we discovered that Fridays are stock up the shelves for the weekend time, so the selection was grand!
Can you guess what we had for dinner?

Yes, it was lamb night! Not a delicious bit was wasted...not even the bones. Have a great weekend!
