White Dog spent the day drawing up last minute lists of things we need to remember to pack for Sunday. like scissors and a hammer...things you don't think about until you need them. We wrote up a detailed staging plan so that we can share it with volunteers pre-Walk on Sunday to help make set up easier (hopefully) and more organized.
The others in the White Dog Army were sent on search and find missions to check on items as WD worked or to double check her information. For a while everyone was hopping!
I had to stop everyone and share a comment on our Puppy Up New Mexico Facebook page from a mom who had registered along with her daughters to Walk to end cancer. She said: "Myself and my girls just signed up today and my little 9 year old started her own personal fund raising page...she is up to $40.00 already...:) "
"Momma," White Dog said, "we will not get ANYTHING done if you get all choked up every time you run across stories like this."
"Little One," I responded, "Be prepared. I will be a teary mess on Sunday when all the energy of the Walkers, and the Celebrants, and the Remembered, and the Virtual presence of all our friends comes together to let cancer know its days are numbered."
