White Dog tapped me on the leg as I worked. I absent mindedly reached down to pet her but she wanted more. She insisted on my attention. "All right, White One of My Heart, let's take a break," I said and we went to sit together in the bedroom, away from the rest of the WDA and my computer.
It was good to step away; it had been a morning of frustrations and vexations. WD laid up against me snuggling close and began talking as Eskies do. I thought at first she was complaining but as I focused I realized she was giving me a pep talk. "I know you are working VERY hard, momma. The Cancer Walk is just around the corner and so many things still need to be done. I know you want more people to sign up ahead of time and that you are afraid that despite all of your efforts that the Walk to end cancer will be less than successful. They will come, momma, I KNOW they will; you just have to have faith in the power of what we are doing. Trust me, ours will be a day that will have cancer quaking because of the energy and determination you have brought together. It will be the most beautiful day of hope and celebration."
I held her tightly and kissed the top of her head. "Thank you," I whispered. "Thank you for putting so much belief in my ability to make a difference."
When went back into the office and I logged on to check my email. The Slimmer Puggums, had sent me a note. As WD and I read it together, she turned and said, "See, I am not the only one who shares your vision and your drive to end cancer!"

Just knowing so many of you support the fight against the c monster, display the WDA Puppy Up widget, have sent photos to share on the Tribute Wall, have contributed to our team, have donated prizes and have spread the word makes the WDA feel like an undefeatable Army of hundreds, flanked by this incredible community, fighting together against a foe who has caused too much pain and taken too many too soon. Thank you , especially for being there to shore us up and for adding your strength.
