Up to 35 animals came in from one home this weekend.
4 dogs, cats, pregnant cats & mother cats with kittens.
They were all abandoned.
This is where we step up and thank our local shelter for just being there and opening their doors to these neglected, homeless animals.
But they can only do so much before the stress takes over.
We are scrambling to find foster homes for the moms and kittens.
Wish us luck. It is a tough time to be doing this.
And let me introduce you to one of the mother cats and her 3 kittens who are resting in our spare bedroom as I type this. I am now a foster home.
Her name is Mellie. During the seizure of over 35 animals, Mellie was giving birth. She was full of fleas and under-nourished. Two kittens were brought into the shelter with her and then the third was born. They are all doing fine. Mellie will take care of her babies and I will take care of her.
A new adventure has begun.
hugs, Deb
