AMMAN, (PIC)-- An “complementary” exchange of roles is being made between the West Bank security forces and those of Israel, said Palestinian MP Hosni al-Borini (Hamas).

In a statement to Jordanian newspaper Al-Sabil, Borini said there is a “strong correlation between the [Israeli] occupation authorities and the security services of the West Bank, with evidence that the occupation arrests some of Hamas’s cadres and then releases them only to be arrested by the security services of the Palestinian Authority afterwards”.

He said that Hamas deems the matter “complementary”, and sees the overall picture as one force in oppostion to the party.

Meanwhile, MP Samira Halayka (Hamas) said the Palestinians have become “frustrated” with the continued persecution by security forces across the West Bank.

She told our correspondent that West Bank citizens have found no difference before or after the signing of the deal that would have united split Palestinian factions. She said they haven’t experienced any real results, pointing out that just days ago, four youths were arrested in Al-Khalil after taking part in congregational prayers.

She said that the situation has peaked in this holy month of Ramadan, as lessons which used to be held in the mosques have been cancelled this year, and in many cities across the West Bank many of the mosque leaders and speakers have been moved or excluded.
