White Dog thought 5:30am came a little too early this morning but it was Steve's day to "open" the school and he has to be there by 7am. Everyone sort of stumbled through the morning ritual of getting him ready for work but when it came time for him to leave, no one wanted him to go. And Quinn was making absolutely certain no one was going to go away without taking him; he stood with his side firmly plastered against the door. To satisfy TOWD, Steve took him for a ride around the block and he got to ride in the momma seat...when they returned TOWD was satisfied and came in with no argument. Steve headed off to school; the pups off to finish kibble and to post-breakfast naps.

The day seemed a little more needy than most, the White Dog Army wanted to touch and cuddle more. Everyone wanted to be in the same room. The White Ones were more polite to each other in small gestural ways (like going the long way around instead of pushing through). It was comforting and reassuring. Even Steve mentioned how much he missed us all when he called at lunch. Our togetherness was like a refreshing balm.

There was no real highpoint to the day and when Steve returned home this evening the entire family seemed happy to just share the same space. A quiet deep sense of union filled the house and our souls.
