White Dog and The White Dog Army wish every pup a Happy National Dog Day. We hope each and every one of you was specially recognized by your people today for all that you do and for the many contributions you make to your family's well-being. We hope that some day every dog will have someone to specially honor them on this day and that no dog will be without a forever home.

We send powerful White Dog protection (we are spirit dogs after all) to all of our friends in the path of Hurrican Irene. May you all be safe and have sanctuary from the storm. We pray that those without resources or shelter are cradled in the arms of angels.

White Dog, The Other White Dog, Another White Dog, Still Another White Dog, and Yet Another White Dog rushed to the door to surround Gregg with birthday wishes. Although the big day was yesterday, tonight was the night of celebration; Gregg has a catering business so his personal schedule is dictated by his clients. In the grand tradition of the White Dog Army it was an evening of deep philosophical conversation, fabulous Asian street food (shrimp dumplings, grilled short ribs, cilantro spiced spring rolls, curry, mixed seafood chow fun, pad thai, and crispy singapore noodles with chicken), and lots of love.

Gregg and Candace, in October, plan to hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon so an REI gift certificate was in order. The WDA pooled their reseources for sustainable seeds (Greeg has a greenhouse and grows many of his own herbs and vegetables). The White Ones sang "Happy Birthday" on cue...and of course there was cake. Four kinds to be exact. Little mini cakes in peanut butter, key lime, red velvet, and pineapple. Everyone got a little tast of each.

Please send a little birthday prayer to our dearest heart family member. He is a wonderful human with a big heart and a compassionate soul. May his health be fit; may he be filled with peace; may he share all of the wonders the Universe offers...and may he always know love. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREGG!

On a special note, White Dog has accepted an invitation from Lord Angus of McDuff (Sally Ann's handsome Eskie brother, Andy) to the Blogville prom. She has chosen to wear red and white patterned with little hearts in a custom design by Angel Hana's mom. She is looking forward to a lovely evening and hopes to see you there.
