White Dog and I share one of those "sixth senses" when things at our house suddenly get quiet, too quiet. It prompts us to seek each other out and then check out each of the members of the White Dog Army and Michael to make sure nothing is amiss. Sometimes our spidey sense turns up one of the pups in the middle of mischief or Michael covertly trying to "fix" a spill or accidental mess.

We get a little more concerned when we cannot see at least one of the boys, Quinn or YoYoMa. Their struggles to become comfortable with each other have caused some issues and we try very hard to always be at a point where one of us can intervene if needed. Both are trying very hard but setbacks happen...backward steps that we would rather avoid.

That is why I got a little nervous this evening when YAWD, who usually camps out next to me, was out of sight. White Dog came down from her perch at my "Where's Yo?" and went into the yard to look. Steve sought TOWD in his sleeping area and in the bathroom (a favorite haunt) and did not see him. I looked on the front porch and felt the knot of stress loosen. Both White Dog and Steve joined me staring out of the doorway at this small wondrous though ephemeral, step of brotherly trust:
