White Dog knew that the knock on the door signalled a rare treat for our house. "Pizza is here!" Steve called and the White Ones swarmed the door without really knowing what he meant.
It was a tossup whether Michael or the pups was more excited by the dinner menu. For the White Dog Army it was their usual chicken rice vegetable mix plus pizza for dessert. Michael opted to skip the dog's meal and focus on the pizza. After cautiously sniffing the veggie with extra cheese pie, Puff tentatively took a bite. She chewed off all the topping and then politely spit the crust on to the carpet and asked for more. To be helpful, Nuka went into cleanup mode and gobbled up the crust remains. TOWD and YAWD and Michael were in a pizza swoon silently noshing with eyes half closed with pleasure.
When Steve announced that there was no more, the entire WDA had to sniff the box to validate his claim.
We took advantage of the ensuing stupor to do some fur maintenance, especially on Nuka and YoYoMa who are both still shedding like there is no reason to keep ANY fur. While Yo is patient with most of the process he sits down when we get to the whithers and refuses to roll over so we can get his underside. So we use the two-man cuddle system on him.

With Nuka it is just a matter of her mood. If she feels cooperative, she will stand and let you softly groom her; if not you can get in maybe 4 swift strokes before she whirls and snaps and storms off. Tonight was a "No thanks, dad!!!!" night.
We hope whatever you have planned for the weekend involves fresh air, a chance to unwind, and time to indulge yourself...enjoy these dog days of summer!
